Earlier this year, I wrote about how 2011 will play witness to Rizal versus Shakespeare. Now here's an announcement from one of the theater groups on Will's corner.
Announcement from Upstart Productions
a touring production of
"Much Ado About Nothing"
"We are focusing on what it's really about: first love and first dates, vicious rumors and vicious rivalries, heartthrobs and heartaches," says show director and Upstart co-founder Joel Trinidad.
The story, originally about victorious soldiers returning home to their fair maidens, is now set in the present day world of competitive sports. The soldiers are now hotshot college basketball players and the smitten maidens are now enthusiastic cheerleaders.
