Joe
A Filipino Rock'sical
PSF’s latest offering this season is something that will rock the understanding of every Filipino about the country’s national hero Jose Rizal. Witness how a personal struggle can be reflective of a national inspiration like Rizal.
The production attempts to present and deconstruct the hero’s image and explore it, in order to fully understand history, the hero’s struggles, and how he really deserved to be the hero of young and old Filipinos.
"Joe is not the usual production that talks about Rizal," says playwright and director Vince Tañada. "It's out attempt to make our audience think about our national hero as a human being and not as a monumental and god-like image."
